“As it is now, members of the public have two opportunities to speak during a School Board meeting. First, they can address individual items on the meeting’s agenda when that item is being discussed. There is also a period at the end of the meeting where individuals can weigh in on other matters.

Only the first ones are recorded and made available on Brevard Public Schools’ website, a move critics say is intended to stifle dissemination of criticism of the board. It has also led to debates about whether some people’s comments were truly about the agenda items being discussed.” (Florida Today, 10/4/2026)
